900 household and administrative employees in the Galil Medical Center in Nahariya on Tuesday afternoon announced they are walking off the job, launching a strike.

They explain the strike is a protest against the non-implementation of an agreement to transfer employees of the State Health Service, which was signed last year between the Histadrut National Labor Federation and the Ministries of Health and Finance.

The Galil Medical Center has grown into a 722-bed facility. The emergency department receives about 400 people daily and the number of hospitalizations is about 60,000 a year. The hospital is located near Israel’s border with Lebanon.
