After being attacked by dozens of extremists waiting for him on Shmuel HaNavi Street in Yerushalayim last week, while returning home from the Friday night tefilla at the Kosel to his home in the city’s Ezras Torah neighborhood, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch received extensive security around him this past Shabbos.

When he arrived, together with his family in the neighborhood he lives, three security guards accompanied him. One of them preceded the rabbi several dozen meters in order to prevent a situation in which the extremists will attack, waiting on a side street. Two other security guards were pinned to the rabbi all along the way.

In addition, Yassam commando police on a motorcycle escorted alongside in the Street, accompanying him to Shmuel HaNavi Junction, and a police car was also involved, giving reports from up ahead to warn them as they approached his home. The rav arrived home without incident.

Extremists, who oppose the renovations taking place in Meron, at the tziyun of the Rashbi, arrived this to attack him, but missed the rav by a few minutes.
