On Wednesday evening, police were called to a Jerusalem light rail station by a woman, who told police a man dressed as a member of the chareidi community assaulted her.
An off-duty policeman passed the scene, realizing the distress of the woman, identifying himself and asking if he can assist. The alleged attacker tried leaving the scene, but the policeman managed to detain him before he could flee. A police unit arrived a short time later and placed the young man in custody.
As a result of identifying and questioning the Jerusalem resident, police learned he has assaulted others in the past, including a child in the north. His remand has been extended as the investigation against him continues.
