In the framework of the ongoing struggle of the Israel Police for improved road safety, seeking to reduce traffic fatalities, the police are focusing on enforcement against life-threatening offenses and ‘bullying’ on the road.
On Tuesday, 26 Menachem Av, a targeted traffic enforcement operation was carried out at the Tarkumiya crossing on Route 35 in the Gush Etzion region. The activity focused on drivers that disrupt traffic, harm the normal routine of motorists, commit life-threatening offenses and drivers transporting passengers illegally.
The operation included the use of overt and covert mobility and the use of means available to the Israel Police. During the operation, 100 traffic summonses were issued for life-threatening offenses and road bullying.
Six vehicles were removed from the road due to severe defects, five vehicles were temporarily banned and the license of one driver was revoked.
