A short time after IDF tank fire was mistakenly directed at a Hamas position in Gaza, killing two terrorists, the regime released a threat against Israel.

“Hamas views with great severity the targeted shelling of the Izzadin al-Kassam Brigades positions in the northern Gaza Strip, which led to the killing of two of our operatives,” the organization said. “Israel will bear the consequences for the escalation that began with the bombing of the outpost.”

Hamas spokesman Fazi Barhom further threatened that the military wing would respond to the deaths of the terrorists. “The resistance can shock the enemy and so that he will not realize quiet,” he claimed. “The Palestinian resistance will not allow the Israeli occupation to impose a policy of bombarding the outposts and attacking combatants – without paying the price.”

The Islamic Jihad also reacted to the incident and strengthened Hamas’ position. “The Israeli occupation bears full responsibility for the aggression that took place,” said the organization’s spokesman. “We emphasize that this is the right of our people to defend itself, and we will respond to this crime and all the other crimes committed by the occupation, which is an exaggerated disregard for the efforts invested in order to establish the ceasefire.”
