Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Tuesday, 26 Menachem Av, visited an armored exercise on the Golan Heights, together with IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gadi Eizenkott and the commander of the Northern Command.

During the visit, the senior minister said: “The Armored Corps was and will be the main force of the IDF in every ground maneuver, especially here in the north. On the other hand, we see the Syrian army, which is not satisfied with taking control of all the Syrian territory, but is clearly building a new, large-scale land army that will return to its previous dimensions and beyond. Therefore, we are monitoring all developments and we are ready for any scenario. ”

“The renewal of the sanctions on Iran is especially necessary for those fighting terrorism,” Lieberman said.

“It must be understood that the recent agreement brought billions of dollars to the ayatollah regime, which was used not for the benefit of the citizens, but for terror and subversion throughout the Middle East. The budget of the Revolutionary Guards and the Quds Force for that subversive activity, including funding for the Quds Force activity in Syria, funding for Hezbollah, funding of Shi’ite militias in Iraq, funding of the Houthi militias in Yemen, funding of Hamas and Islamic Jihad amounts to $ 2.5 billion a year.

“It is necessary to understand what an extremist regime exists in Iran, despite all the difficulties and all the problems from within, they continue to spend more than $ 2 billion a year and are planning to spend even more, so when talking about the aid to the Iranian economy, it is not humanitarian aid as the European community believes, it assistance to the Iranian regime.

“This is not assistance to the Iranian economy, it is not assistance to the Iranian people, it is aid to the Iranian regime that is spreading terror on European soil, including recently, so we strongly support President Trump’s decision and I hope that in the second stage, we will see the implementation of the same sanctions in November,” Lieberman concluded.
