According to a report from the Jerusalem police district spokesman unit, an undercover investigation led to the arrest of a female Arab resident of the capital on suspicion of incitement to violence and terrorism, using social media to get her message out.
Over the past few weeks, the police conducted a covert investigation against a resident of the eastern capital, a suspect in her 30s, on suspicion of a long list of publications distributed through a Facebook page in her name and on another social platform, of which there is suspicion of incitement to violence and terrorism and support for a terrorist organization. She was arraigned in a Jerusalem court on Monday, and her detention has been extended until Wednesday, 27 Menachem Av, to permit police to continue the investigation against her.
The police noted that the covert investigation that led to the evidence and other findings and finally to the arrest of the suspect constitute an important and central part of the police’s relentless and uncompromising war against incitement to violence and support of terrorist organizations that are liable to bring young people to action. In doing so, the police are constantly working to locate these publications, to prevent their continued dissemination and to prosecute those involved.
