HaRav Mazuz: Stone Which Fell from the Kosel is Due to Reform Jewry

Rosh Yeshivat Kisei Rachamim HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz has spoken out about the large stone which recently fell from a southern area of the Kosel, the area which is to be allocated for egalitarian prayer to accommodate Reform and Conservative Jewry. Rav Mazuz calls the event a “hint from Shomayim”.

Rav Mazuz began to address the falling of the stone at the Kosel. “But what happened last week in the place designated for them at the Kosel, a stone fell weighing 100 kilograms, and there was a miracle that none of them were there, except for one woman who stood praying there, and suddenly she sees the stone. At first, they thought the Arabs had thrown it, but then they saw that it had fallen from the wall. At first, they thought it was the new stones they had erected there, but it turned out to be an ancient stone from the days of Herod and it has been there for two thousand years, and they do not know why it fell there, and now they took the stone to research why it fell as to avoid it from occurring again.”

Rav Mazuz said: “But this stone is coming to inform them: You are sinners at the Kosel, you must not do this.” If a Reform worshiper wishes to pray, let him come like all others, for even non-Jews may pray there but they should not create [something] new — a woman reading from a Sefer Torah and wearing tefillin and the like. This is what they are lacking?! Are you like Michal the daughter of Shaul? These are just actors and we must not do this”

“Therefore, the stone did not happen to fall but it was Hashgacha Pratis, a reminder, that there should not be something like this”.

  1. Flatbush guy, defending Hellenism, which is what Reform is, certainly won’t bring Mashiach as thousands of Jews abandon Judaism for far-leftist western anti-religious, anti-eretz Israel ideology.

  2. They may not bring Mashiach closer but pushing them away and insulting them will push Mashiach away as well. That is without a doubt.

Please do not call Reform “Jewry”. There is nothing Jewish about Reform. It is a cult with a foreign, non-Jewish belief system. Reform is a stand-alone, made up religion. Reform is not Judaism.

  4. Can’t say whether Mashiach is on his way or not, but it sounds as though someone else is already here:
    שֹׁמֵעַ אִמְרֵי קל וְיֹדֵעַ דַּעַת עֶלְיוֹן מַחֲזֵה שַׁדי יֶחֱזֶה נֹפֵל וּגְלוּי עֵינָיִם

  5. It is important not to put words in the mouths of the Gedolim. The quote in the article doesn’t match the headline.

The quote says to not create something new, e.g. women wearing tefillin. It also criticizes some practices at the Wall. The headline says Rav Mazuz is picking a fight with ALL of Reform Judaism, which is a huge, diverse group.

Don’t spread hatred and blame it on the Gedolim. This borders on lashon hara against the Rav.

  6. I don’t know whether R Mazuz is right, but I never appreciated rabbis giving reasons for tragedies by pointing the finger at other groups of Jews. How does that help anyone? The reform Jews aren’t going to take mussar from R Mazuz.
