The erev Shabbos edition of the Peleg Yerushalmi-affiliated HaPeles newspaper reported that all of the over 40 avreichim and talmidei yeshivos arrested at protests during the week were released from jail by police. It is reported that this was accomplished following the intervention of the faction’s rabbonim and the hiring of an attorney who deals with such cases.
The protests were called after a bochur was arrested by police for failing to report to an IDF induction center as required by law.
The bochur, Nissan Raada, was brought before a military court on Thursday evening last week. He was represented by an attorney hired by the Vaad Rabbonim and his family was permitted in the court room as well. Speaking to the media, the family thanks the tzibur at large for all its support and the large turnout at the protest on their son’s behalf. His remand was extended to Tuesday, 26 Menachem Av, at which time another hearing will take place.
This is commonplace in such cases, and the court usually extends the remand of such a subject for days at a time, continuing to do so each hearing until the filing of an indictment and then sentencing follows a verdict if found guilty. Rarely are such prisoners released on bail.

They’ve been released from police custody but they will never be released from chillul shem shamayim brabim!
boruch hashem
it is a shame that these rotten bums in black suits and hats get out so easily. They should have to sit in jail for a month!
Holding them in jail just costs the taxpayers money and give these hooligans ‘street cred’ with their gang members. Hit them where it actually hurts them – substantial monetary fines.
Deport these pseudo-yeshiva guys to Iran. Let them protest there and we’ll see how long their protests will last.
