As a result of the ongoing efforts of Rishon L’Tzion (Sephardic Chief Rabbi) Rav Shlomo Moshe Amar, 22 new Dayanim (Rabbinical Court Judges) were appointed. Four of the new judges are from the Bet Din of Rav Karlitz, 11 affiliated with the hareidi community, and 6 from the Dati Leumi (National Religious) community.
The new Dayanim will be assigned to handle matters pertaining to giyur (conversions) and will almost double the current number of 24 justices.
The appointments are viewed as a major success by staff members of Rav Amar.
