A Wizz Air flight announced an emergency and close to noon on Monday, 18 Menachem Av, about 20 minutes after taking off from Ben-Gurion Airport. A level 2 emergency was declared at the airport.

The plane was coming in for an emergency landing shortly after taking off, returning with its 182 passengers and crew members. Fire trucks and ambulances were deployed as the pilot reported one of the plane’s engines stopped operating.

A tense 15 or so minutes later, B’chasdei Hashem, the plane touched down back in Ben-Gurion in an uneventful landing.
