The spokesperson at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Hospital reported on Monday morning, 18 Menachem Av, that an 8-month-old baby arrived in the emergency room during the night, a resident of an Arab area of the eastern capital, in serious condition.

Diagnostic testing revealed the child had a “dangerous drug” in his system, but the hospital report did not specify exactly what the substance was.

Police were notified, and they tacked down the child’s parents, who were questioned and subsequently placed under arrest. Police report the parents will be arraigned on Monday, and they will ask that the parents be held without bail.
