MORE ARRESTS: Police Arrest Additional Chareidi Extremists For Vandalizing Election Ads From Egged Busses In Yerushalayim


Police on Thursday announced making additional arrests in connection with chareidim who tore off election campaign posters for the Jerusalem mayoral race from Egged buses in the capital. Posters for the MK Rachel Azariya campaign were torn down, and in some cases, buses were vandalized with black spray paint. Police report the posters were targeted because they show Azariya, a woman.

A number of arrests were made earlier in the week, youths ages 15 and 16, from the chareidi community.

Police on Thursday afternoon report at present, a total of six suspects remain in custody, and additional arrests are expected. One of the suspects is a 32-year-old male.

Police explain they will all be arraigned and face criminal charges for their actions.

  1. Would the YWN editors please take some time to learn the difference between busses and buses. The former is the plural of a synonym for kiss, the latter is the plural of a word for a kind of transportation equipment that typically runs with an internal combustion engine and can hold more than 6 people.
