The Zehut party headed by Moshe Feiglin on Tuesday, 12 Menachem Av, marked three years since its establishment with parlor meetings and other events around Israel. In Haifa, an event will be held in a café that opens on Shabbos, that does not have kosher supervision, which some find objectionable.

According to a Srugim report, on Monday, there was a bicycle event in central Jerusalem including Feiglin, who is known to be a riding enthusiast. Dozens took part in the ride with him, arriving from Herzliya, meeting with supporters in various locations on their way to the capital.

On Tuesday, events were scheduled in Machane Yehuda in Jerusalem, as well as in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Beersheva, Ramle and in areas in Yehuda and Shomron. The Haifa event, set for Tuesday evening, is in a café that opens on Shabbos. The report adds there are other events in different cities in non-kosher eateries as well. Feiglin will participate in an event in the Heine Kioscafe in Haifa, and other activists will take be in the Landver Café in Rishon L’Tzion. Srugim reports that both places are not kosher certified, operating on Shabbos.

Srugim reports Zehut released the following response to the report. “These are private gatherings organized by party activists, which are among dozens of events that will take place this week in the framework of the Zehut party’s birthday. The events are not organized by the party headquarters and Moshe Feiglin arrives to honor any discussion and gathering, as they are.

“Zehut activists come from a broad social spectrum that represents Israeli society in all its shades, and not just a particular sector. Zehut is proud of the fact that it unites various public groups under its wing and constitutes a home for all voices in Israeli society.”
