Over the course of the past week, the Bashan Brigade led six special operations in several locations, where humanitarian assistance was provided to Syrians in the tent camps in the Golan Heights.
As part of these operations, 72 tons of food were transferred, 70 tents, 9,000 liters of fuel, medicine and medical supplies, as well as clothing and toys.
The IDF continues to assist the Syrians in the camps established in the Syrian Golan Heights, where thousands of Syrians live in poor conditions without access to water, electricity, food, or basic necessities. Syrians are not permitted to cross into Israel.
For several years now, as a gesture of good will and as part of the spirit of the IDF and the State of Israel, the IDF has been implementing a policy of providing life-saving humanitarian assistance in the framework of “good neighborliness” to the locals, residents of the Syrian Golan Heights.
The IDF is monitoring developments in southern Syria and is preparing for a variety of scenarios, including continued humanitarian assistance to the Syrians.
