Request To AG Mandelblit To Take Another Look At Netanyahu Investigations

The lawyers of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara appealed to Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit to investigate Roni Ritman for fear of a conflict of interest following his claims that Netanyahu is running a campaign against him because of the investigations against him.

Attorneys Yossi Cohen and Yaakov Weinroth claim that “Today it became clear that Roni Ritman, who headed the investigations of the prime minister and his wife, was prejudiced because he believed that the Netanyahu family initiated the complaint that was filed against him for sexual harassment.

“This casts a heavy burden on the investigations that were conducted against him by the Netanyahu family, and any matter examined by the unit under his leadership regarding the Netanyahu couple is questionable,” the two added. “Therefore, we ask that you reexamine the above investigations.”

Meanwhile, on Thursday, 29 Tammuz, MK Yoav Kisch, chairman of the Knesset Interior Committee, will hold a discussion on the subject. “The suspicions arising from the investigations published in Haaretz and Maariv raise difficult questions of conflict of interest and discriminatory treatment of ‘T’. We will examine how the prime minister’s investigation is conducted, when the responsible investigator believes that Netanyahu is running a campaign against him. I will summon the relevant parties and Ritman himself. I hope he will appear,” said in a statement issued on behalf of the Committee.

Prior to this, PM Netanyahu was questioned by police in his Jerusalem Residence for four hours in the 4000 case on Tuesday. His staff issued the following statement. “Nothing new has been presented to the prime minister today, and that he has never made a deal with Elovitch in exchange for sympathetic coverage [from Walla News].” At the end of his interrogation on Tuesday, PM Netanyahu said, “A special attitude towards Elovitch? No such thing!”

Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife Sara appealed to Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit to reconsider the investigations against the prime minister on the grounds that Roni Ritman, who headed the investigations against the prime minister, was biased.

Attorneys Yossi Cohen and Yaakov Weinroth wrote Mandelblit a letter in which they requested to re-examine Ritman’s investigations into the Netanyahu case.
