Court Complies With Request Of Mrs. Netanyahu To Delay Start Of Trial

The Jerusalem Magistrate Court on Monday, 26 Tammuz, complied with a request by attorneys for Mrs. Sara Netanyahu, who asked for a delay in the opening of the trial against her, the trial addressing alleged illegalities in the Prime Minister’s Residence. The trial was set to begin on July 19th, and attorney Yossi Cohen sought a delay until after summer recess, in September. Cohen explained he is involved in another case involving a sick elderly person.

The prosecution did not object and the court approved the request. The opening is now set for October 7, 2018.

Mrs. Netanyahu is accused of using 360,000 shekels of public money for her own personal use, including ordering meals instead of permitting the chef on staff prepare them in-house. She is also charged with illegally obtaining benefits, fraud and breach of trust.
