A 44-year-old Arad woman has been taken into police custody on suspicion of throwing hot oil on her 55-year-old husband. He was transported in moderate condition to Soroka Hospital in Beersheva.

Police were summoned to the home by neighbors who heard the shouting of the couple’s 11-year-old daughter, who was screaming for help. Police understood she threw hot oil on him while he was in bed.

The victim sustained burns to his upper body. The wife was arraigned in the Beersheva Magistrate Court.

Hospital officials report the victim sustained burns to his face and chest. He remains in an intensive care unit in moderate condition and he is conscious.
