Chairman of the Bayit Yehudi party, Minister of Education Naftali Bennet, on Thursday declared that in the next elections, Bayit Yehudi and Ichud Leumi will run together just as in the last elections.
In the previous Knesset and in the current Knesset, the joint run showed its strength: When we are united, we are strong, so the desire is to run together, and at the same time to open the ranks of the party to new audiences in order to create a diverse party that has [both MK] Bezalel Smotrich and [Justice Minister] Ayelet Shaked.”
Bennet said that “as of now there is an open dialogue between the factions, and I believe we will succeed in overcoming the differences and running together.”
Bennet added when Likud is too strong, it speaks of a Palestinian state, referring to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s address at Bar Ilan. Bennet continued, explaining how a strong Bayit Yehudi party is essential for Israel’s future, referring to the party as the “the nationalistic backbone of the Israeli Government. When Bayit Yehudi is strong, the Likud becomes a strong right [wing party].”
