Minister of Environmental Protection MK Ze’ev Elkin instructed the professional echelon to set up an air quality monitoring vehicle in the Gaza vicinity as a result of the fires caused by the kite terror.
On Tuesday, the ministry set up an air quality monitoring vehicle at Kibbutz Kissufim at the request of residents of the vicinity. The mobile will measure the following air pollutants: Small respiratory particles (PM2.5) that are dangerous to public health and have been proven to be carcinogenic, nitrogen oxides, nitrogen dioxide and ozone. In addition, wind direction and speed are measured for the purpose of attributing the sources of pollution.
Residents of the Gaza border communities will be able to receive real-time information on air quality on the Ministry of Environmental Protection website at www.svivaaqm.net.
