The IDF Spokesman Unit announced on Sunday morning 18 Tammuz that due to the difficult situation across the Syrian border, additional tanks and artillery units will be brought into the area to fortify the Bashan Outpost along that border.

The forces were deployed Sunday morning as part of the IDF’s preparedness in the face of developments in the Syrian Golan Heights near the border.

The IDF Spokesman explains it attaches great importance to maintaining the 1974 disengagement agreement between Israel and Syria.

The spokesman’s statement concludes, “Humanitarian assistance has been provided by Israel for many years and continues today, in light of the existing need.”
