Rav Moshe Gviritz z”l, 86, who served as secretary of the Vaad Poel Olami of Agudas Yisrael for some 65 years, was niftar during the predawn hours of Tuesday, 13 Tammuz.

Agudas Yisrael officials released a statement, “With his death, a legendary figure was lost from time immemorial, a man who was in charge of organizing the world’s famous conferences, the large and heroic assemblies and the siyum Shas for the masses. ”

For a short period, the niftar also was secretary of the party in the Knesset, as well as Beit Pinchas of Agudas Yisrael where the Moetzas Gedolei Torah gathered for fifty years. He also served under Rav Pinchas Yaakov Levin, and Rav Yehuda Meir Abramowitz z”l.

The niftar was very close to his rebbe, the Sanzer Rebbe Shlita, as well as other rebbes, including Gur, Belz, Boyan and Slonim.
