The Yeshivat Machon Meir ‘Arutz Meir – Yahadut With Love’ TV station has been gaining in popularity as an internet based TV station. After months of negotiations and a trial run on Channel 220, the yeshiva station is set to begin cable TV broadcasts in Israel next week, on HOT Cable TV Channel 96. Programming will be available 24 hours a day.
The internet station was established 8 years ago as a medium to provide live broadcasts of Machon Meir shiurim. Six years ago, children’s programming was added, and on HOT, additional content will be available to viewers.
One of the new programs will be לגדול באהבה, for children ages 3 and older, aired in the mornings and afternoons in the hope of providing educational frum content for children.
מאירים את הבית (Illuminating the House) will also join, providing a wealth of quality content for adults, part of which will be talk shows based on the hashkafa of the yeshiva. There will also be the לומדים באהבה, ‘Learning with Love’ programming, an extension of the beit medrash and the yeshiva shiurim. The cable TV beit medrash will offer Torah content in English, French, Russian and Spanish, all with a Zionist hashkafa with an emphasis placed on ahavat chinam and respecting one another.
Machon Meir founder and rosh yeshiva, Rabbi Dov Begun states “Just like in Machon Meir and on Arutz Meir on the internet, the TV channel has the same goal, to penetrate the home with the hashkafa of bringing people closer to the fold with a hashkafa of love and emunah. The station is not exclusively for the dati tzibur, and I turn to the population at large to take advantage of the fine programming available.”
The yeshiva, internet TV and HOT Cable broadcasting are based on the hashkafa and teachings of Rav Kook ZT”L.
