It appears the next company commander for the Givati Brigade Tomer [chareidi] Company will be a chareidi officer. Tomer is the chareidi unit operating in Givati.
According to a report from Kol Berama Radio Mendy Rizal on Sunday morning, 18 Tammuz, the appointment will be made in the coming weeks. The officer is a graduate of the very came company.
The appointment is made by the brigade commander, in this case, Colonel Dudu Bar-Khalifa. While there have been company commanders serving in Nachal Chareidi (Netzach Yehuda), if this appointment comes through, it will mark a first for the Givati Brigade.
This very same brigade commander prevented dozens of soldiers from having to attend a kol isha event about a year ago, shortly after entering his position.

This is very encouraging news. I hope it will happen. Time and time again the Hareidi units have been honored for their high level of professionalism. Lets us remember that they are all essentially volunteers. This is what a volunteer army looks like. There is no need to force anyone to defend the Jewish people because there is no lacking of those willing and able to do so.
