Israel Election Fraudsters Treated Lightly By The Court


Some four and a half years after the last elections in Beit Shemesh, stormy elections, the Jerusalem Magistrate Court on Thursday, 2 Rosh Chodesh Tammuz, ruled in the case of five suspects charged with election fraud.

They were charged with conspiring to commit a crime, fraud, and election law-breaking. This refers to chareidim who paid for identity cards and dressed up in disguises and attempted to vote several times during the elections.

The court ruled Aharon Shmuel Lundner to five months community service and a NIS 3,000 fine. Avraham Beiler, two months community service and his wife Yehudis, community service on condition, which means if she is guilty of the same offence again, she will have to do community service. David Tapilinsky and Nachum Goldberg will have their sentences announced next week.

During the proceeding, Justice Kaduri hinted he did not plan punishment more serious than this.
