Delta Airlines Launches Daily Flights To Tel Aviv

delta.jpgIn addition to its daily flight from Atlanta to Tel Aviv, Delta Airlines is proudly launching their newest route on Monday night: New York’s John F. Kennedy airport to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport. This will add another 100,000 seats to Israel for the year 2008. Delta’s inaugural flight takes off on Monday from JFK, and lands at Ben Gurion airport on Tuesday, March 11 with a festive reception.

Meanwhile, El Al has announced that they are adding a fourth daily flight to New York at the end of March. The flight will depart from Tel Aviv at 12:00PM and arrive in New York at 8:30PM.

620,000 tourists visited Israel in 2007 – the best year ever for tourism from North America – and an increase of more than 10% over 2006. This past January saw an increase of 20% in the number of tourists from North America, with approximately 50,000 incoming tourists as opposed to 41,000 in the same month of 2007.

  1. Finaly one of our own carriers & one we could rely on & be treated like decent human beings the american way & not be subjected to the inhumane treatment of EL AL as they cant stand on orthodox jew & that is in addition to their constant Violating the Shabbos & as they are fully operating on Shabbos including servicing the planes, checking in baggage.

It would be a very nice thing if we start patronizing DELTA in order for this route to keep operating as competition is very healthy for us consumers, it gives as more choices, its very simple each seat sold or booked on Delta is one less seat sold on El Al,

I have flown business class with EL AL & the mistreatment that i had to go thru many times is mind Boggling & there is no Mitzva to support El AL its quite the contrary, we should not support them at all for two reasons first of all they are MECHALEL SHABBOS BEFRASYA & in addition the disrespect & Contempt they have shown to their passangers is unacceptable.

Let us send EL AL a very clear message either you shape up or we take our business someplace else.

I remember flying TWA to Israel, what a pleasure it was to deal with Americans who have class & respect you as a human being unlike EL AL which does not give any respect to anybody.

  2. mr lev tov,

Try to have a good heart for your fellow jewish corportations instead of praising american class and respect. The last i heard, ELAL was complying with the rabbis demand.

Its a sad day when frum jews criticize whats jewish and praise others…

  3. levtov32-
You can fly Continental; I just did and it was terrific. The stewardess actually apologized for brushing her cart into me, she said “Oh were you praying? I am so sorry”. Can you imagine that happening on ELAL?!

  4. #2 i agree with you regarding lousy service on elal, but this happens to be something you cant blame on their possible dislike of “doosim” or charedim. its typical israeli (and often american) behavior.

#1, you are 100% correct. as of now, continental is slightly less expensive than elal. and better service, etc.

  5. Hate to break the news to you guys, but their schedule is not very helpful to the Hamon Am, currently they are flying at 9pm Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night. ElAl part of the Delta Skyteam knew just what they were doing when they “allowed” Delta a piece of the cake on this route. They ruled out Charedim for 66% of their flights.

  6. bash elal all you want put when it comes down to reality they have by far the most advanced secuity and training of any airline in the world

  7. To all the EL-AL bashers : The worst Jewish flight is better than the best Goyish one.
You don’t like secular Jews ? Stay in America, Germany, U.S.S.R, Spain and where-ever you want to in the Galus.

  8. I think Delta will not be hurt by having only 1 of 3 flights for Sabbath-observant passengers.

In addition to Christians, who can take those other 2 flights, there are also Jews who, unfortunately, are not (yet) Sabbath-observant, who would also take those flights.

SPinsky, why do you feel “El Al bashers” have to remain where they live and not travel to Israel? Did the commie post-Jewish Zionists disallow that, too?

And what makes “the worst Jewish flight” better than “the best goyish one”? Unlike Zionists, your typical American non-Jew actually respects religion, since they have their own beliefs whereas Zionists believe only in their anti-Jewish State and hate the religion of (some of) their forefathers.

I don’t know where you got your info from.
i’m flying delta next week TUESDAY. NOT Friday, NOT Sunday NOT Saturday but TUESDAY. AND I’m coming back on TUESDAY.

  10. #14
    not true.
they have flights other days in the week as well. I’m flying to Israel on Delta on Tuesday night before Purim..

  11. Why do you feel the need to put down El-Al? If you don’t like their policies or service, don’t spread Loshon Hara for everyone to read, just don’t fly with them!

  12. I flew Continental for the last few times instead of ElAl and loved it! Also the lines were so much shorter for check in!! American service versus Israeli service.
