Former Shas Minister Shlomo Benizri, who was accused of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, tried and convicted, has turned to President Reuven Rivlin to clear his name.
Benizri served his prison term, released some time ago, however, recently, contractor Moshe Sela, the key state witness against Benizri, announced on the radio that he lied, incriminating Benizri to save himself from going to prison.
Since that radio broadcast, Benizri has ben working to clear his name, telling the media he has always maintained his innocence, and now, the truth is known to all.
