Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan led the opening of the exhibit in memory of fallen Border Policewoman Hadas Malka HY”D.
Minister Erdan: “Thanks to Hadas and our wonderful fighters, Jerusalem is becoming a safer place, and it will only grow stronger, and this is only the beginning of the process. We have deployed more policemen in the capital, the operating doctrine has been improved, the city is networked with cameras. Jerusalem is vibrant as never before.
To be a combatant is to decide. Decide what you want, decide what you aspire to. Decide what is important to you. Decide what is important to the state. And you, David and Geula, you raised a glorious woman, a young woman who decided, who aspired and chose to take the supreme responsibility, and be prepared to pay the most expensive price for Jerusalem, for Israel.”
Minister Erdan referred to the international conference of internal security ministers that he initiated and will hold this week in Jerusalem.
“This week, I will host ministers from many countries who come to Israel to learn how we deal with terrorism, terrorism that threaten the world. They look at us, our experience, and ask how we cope. When you look at Hadas, you understand how. The answer is in the spirit, the same spirit that stood at Shar Shechem, which is also the spirit of the people and the entire country.”
Hadas, 23, HY”D, the daughter of Dovid and Geula, fell in the line of duty during a terrorist attack at Shar Shechem a year ago. She was a member of the Border Police. The exhibit in her memory is the initiative of her parents.
