After harsh attacks against the Bayit HaYehudi Party by Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita, the party’s number six hopeful, Uri Orbach responds.
Orbach, who was a radio show host on Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) prior to entering the Knesset, made references to the “Three bandits” who run Shas, i.e., Minister Eli Yishai, Want-to-be-Minister Aryeh Deri and Minister Ariel Atias.
Orbach feels that “Rav Ovadia does not open a newspaper to read it to learn what is going on, but he relies on the three bandits, the trio that leads Shas.” Orbach made his remarks during an appearance on the Nissim Meshal radio show, explaining “Shas is under enormous pressure as it realizes we are grabbing its votes.”
“Likud accuses us of being too dati and Shas accuses us of not being dati enough” he added, “I add in the name of our parents and ourselves, we do not require anyone’s approval regarding our religiosity and our love of Torah. We are honest, love the Torah, love Eretz Yisrael, and the State of Israel, and the Shasnikim will not have to issue a certificate of integrity to us.”

This is a very common belief that many of the older gedolim rely on others to interpret the current events for them, which renders their psak questionable.
and how is this not LH?
So allowing Reform conversions is “too Dati” for the Likud?
