New Walla News Election Poll: Bibi Remains Unbeatable

A new Walla News poll show Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s popularity continues to remain high as Yesh Atid party leader MK Yair Lapid drops. This latest poll was conducted by Panels Politics, released on Sunday, 20 Sivan. Likud headed by PM Netanyahu earns 34 seats, with second place party Yesh Atid earning 16 seats. The last Walla News poll released at the end of last month showed Likud with 29 seats and Yesh Atid with 16. It appears the Prime Minister’s handling of security-related events has boosted his popularity, significantly increasing the gap between Likud and second place Yesh Atid.

519 respondents representing a cross- section of the Jewish and Arab populations participated in the internet poll.

Other poll results:

  • Machane Tzioni 10 (24 currently)
  • Arab List 12 (13)
  • Bayit Yehudi 11 (8)
  • Yahadut Hatorah 8 (6)
  • Yisrael Beitenu 6 (6)
  • Kulanu 6 (10)
  • Meretz 6 (5)
  • New Abekasis party 6 (0)
  • Shas 5 (7)

The poll shows the current coalition would receive 70 of the votes as compared to 66 today.

Who emerged successful in the last round of warfare?

55% Israel

19% Hamas

26% do not know

Do you Support Retaking Control of Gaza?

58% oppose

29% support

13% do not know

The poll also seeks to determine how many votes Likud would gain if it ran together with Yisrael Beitenu. The result is only two addition seats, to 36, or four less for than the total of the two parties running impendent of one another. If they run together, the four lost seats theoretically go to Kulanu and Abekasis, with each earning 8 seats instead of 6 if the parties run independently.

One Response

  1. He is unbeatable since under the system of proportional representation, the victor is the one best able to form a government and only Likud, in the “center” of the spectrum can get a majority. The other parties have ruled out cooperation with enough parties to preclude their forming a government even with the most seats.
