Deputy Minister Meir Porush is angry with the decision by the Degel Hatorah party to present a candidate for the Mayoral race of the city of Elad. He had until know hoped that the party would throw their support behind his son, Yisroel Porush, who had already declared his candidacy. The decision by Degel Hatorah, came about as an election agreement between the party and the Shlomei Emunim faction in the city. According to a report on the Kkikar Shabbat news site, MKs from the Degel Hatorah party are supposed t meet with Deputy Minister Porush in order to smooth things over.
It is expected that the MKs will demand that Porush’s son won’t run in the upcoming municipal elections set for November of this year. Porush it seems will demand that if the Litai party isn’t able to obtain all of the things that Porush outlined from Moshe Abutbul, the Mayo of Beit Shemesh, in that city, then Porush will reserve the right to run in Elad.
It is assumed that should Porush run and break the agreement, then the Shlomi Amunim party which his son is a part of would risk entering into a crisis with the Degel Hatorah and Shas parties, as the two have already agreed upon a joint candidate in Elad.

This further proves incorrect all who try to portray charedim as monolithic
Actually it proves that Meir Porush is primarily interested in ensuring the continuation of the Porush dynasty! And few have contributed more to the welfare of the Charedi yishuv than the Porush family.
