MK Yisrael Eichler on Wednesday morning, 9 Sivan, spoke with Betzalel Kahn of Kol Chai Radio, asked to comment on ongoing government efforts to draft a new induction bill for the chareidi tzibur. Eichler explained that regardless of what the government approves, the chareidi parties will have to review it and of course obtain the approval of their respective rabbonim shlita.

When asked to comment on the fact there is no chareidi representation on the government committee which is formulating the new law, Eichler explained this shows how much the government cares about chareidim. He added that regardless of the outcome, the left-wing and others will shout and condemn it for this is the norm.

Eichler explains, “This is a deal-breaker as per coalition agreements. The government passed a law and the anti-Jewish High Court disqualified it. Now, a new law must be drawn up. We will not settle for anything short of recognizing each person learning torah is doing his share for the defense of the nation. For if this is not so, why do we need a Jewish state? This is the entire justification for the existence of the State of Israel today.”
