Heatwave Defrosts Building Freeze -100s Of Units Planned For Beit El

It appears B’chasdei Hashem the building (construction) freeze in the community of Beit El is a thing of the past as there are announced plans to construct 300 new housing units under the new “occupant price plan” announced by the government.

After ten years of construction freeze in the community, about 300 new apartments are being offered for sale in Beit El as part of the “occupant price” plan. This is the largest marketing move in the settlements since the plan was initiated by Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon. For the sake of comparison, in Maale Adumim only 44 housing units were marketed within the framework of “occupant price”.

According to Ynet, apartment prices reflect a 20 percent discount on the price of similar apartments on the market. As part of the marketing of the apartments, the starting price for the 85 sq.m. apartment will be NIS 584,762. For a 100 sq. meter apartment, the initial price will be NIS 676,514. A 120 sq.m. apartment will be marketed at a starting price of NIS 798,849. The apartments include a balcony, storage room and parking.

Last October, the Supreme Planning Council of the Civil Administration approved the marketing of hundreds of housing units in Beit El. This is the fulfillment of a promise made by Prime Minister Netanyahu to Rabbi Zalman Melamed and to the community five and a half years ago, after the demolition of the houses on Ulpana Hill.

  1. There are continuous announcements of approval of building plans but in the past, few were ever actually built!
