In the accompanying video, US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman gives us a sneak peek of the new site for the US Embassy, in Jerusalem. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place in the presence of a number of US administration officials, on Monday, 29 Iyar.

In the video we see last-minute preparations for the event, made possible by US President Donald Trump, who made good on another campaign promise.

Needless to say, security will be heavy for the estimated 800 invited guests. President Trump will deliver a video address. He was thinking of attending in person, but the decision was made that he will address the event from the US.

Following the US’ lead, both Guatemala and Paraguay have announced they move their embassies to Jerusalem too.
