Israel Police is competing preparations for the Jerusalem Day events, the Flag Parade, the state ceremony at Ammunition Hill and the yahrzeit at the Tziyun of Shmuel HaNavi. The special police operation encompasses Shabbos to Monday, 26 to 28 Iyar.
The Israel Police and Border Police including volunteer units, will deploy to maintain public order as well as engaging in traffic control, with emphasis on the main events that will take place in the city:
Marking 51 years for Jerusalem, the Flag Parade and the state ceremony at Ammunition Hill.
Police will be using uniformed and plainclothes personnel and commanders explain they will exhibit zero tolerance for any disobedience and/or failure to comply with police instructions.
· Traffic arrangements for the Flag Parade, which apply to Sunday, 28 Iyar, 3:00PM to 9:00PM.
The following streets and in some cases, streets leading to them, will be closed: Ben-Tzvi, Betzalel, King George, Hillel, Yaffo, Kikar Tzahal, Chaim Bar Lev, Sultan Suleiman, Derech Yericho, the Opal Road.
The Jerusalem light rail will operate in both directions, albeit an abridged route. North: Pisgat Ze’ev to Shar Shechem. South: Mt. Herzl to the central bus station. Buses will use alternate routes. For additional information, one may phone Egged at *2800.
· The state ceremony at Ammunition Hill on Sunday, 6:00PM to 11:00PM
Shargai Street will be shut down.
· Nighttime Jerusalem Day activities on Sunday, from 3:00AM to 8:00PM.
Police will be out in force to maintain order.
· Yahrzeit of Shmuel HaNavi: Shabbos to Monday
Police will be out in large numbers to maintain security and traffic control.
No one will be permitted to reach the above-mentioned areas by private vehicle.
