Police on March 3, 2018 received a report of the theft of the diamonds from Ramat Gan, worth $200,000. It appears a diamond dealer showed the diamonds to a potential client, who signaled he wished to close a deal. The suspect then managed to flee with the envelope.
The diamond dealer tried to locate the thief, albeit without success. He then filed an official complaint with police, who tracked down the 47-year-old Ganei Tikva resident, who will be arraigned. Police report the suspect is living on a tourist visa.
