PM Netanyahu Attends Victory Day Parade in Moscow Along with Russian President Putin and Serb President Vucic

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, along with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serb President Aleksandar Vucic, on Wednesday morning, 24 Iyar, in Red Square in Moscow, attended the parade commemorating victory over Nazi Germany 73 years ago.

Mr. Netanyahu traveled to Moscow to speak with the Russian leader regarding the Syrian situation. In an interview with Ynet, Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz hinted to this, speaking to the media hours after another attack that occurred south of Damascus during the night, an attack which claimed 15 lives, the Syrian media reports. Netanyahu is likely to address Moscow’s position vis-à-vis Syria and other enemies of Israel. Russia continues to supply Israel’s enemies with advanced anti-aircraft systems despite American and Israeli efforts to stop those deals.

Russian President Putin had invited Prime Minister Netanyahu to attend the Victory Day parade with him.

Following the parade, the leaders attended a wreath-laying ceremony for the unknown soldier at the memorial for Red Army soldiers who fell in World War II and whose resting place is unknown. The leaders laid flowers on the stones of the Moscow Hero City Monument in the presence of an honor guard; national anthems were also played.

The leaders are currently attending a Victory Day reception at the Kremlin with the participation of dozens of veterans.
