In Syria, loud explosions were heard Wednesday and local media reported bombs at a military base near Damascus, killing nine people, including an Iranian general.

Israel did not address the Syrian claims that came in light of the IDF’s directive to open shelters in the Golan Heights after “unusual movements” of Iranian forces were identified in Syria.

On Tuesday night, US President Donald Trump announced that his country would abandon the nuclear deal with Iran and expressed concern in Tehran that Tehran intended to use the opportunity to attack Syria.
