After numerous questioning sessions with police of the 433 Lahav Serious Crimes Units, it appears police will recommend filing a criminal indictment against Shas party leader Aryeh Deri, for alleged tax crimes, 10 News reported.
According to the report, police are wrapping up their investigation against Deri, after being questioned for a last time last month.
As far as Deri is concerned, this is good news, since at first he was suspected of serious corruption offenses, first and foremost bribery. Another suspicion that was expected to go into the indictment was money laundering. However, the evening reported that the police are expected to recommend Deri’s position on charges of tax offenses only.
After his last interrogation, Deri wrote on Twitter: “I have just completed my interrogation and as usual I answered all the questions I was asked, everything is better and will be even better with G-d’s help.”
