VIDEO & PHOTOS: Children Arrested For Blocking Intersection Near Kikar Shabbos; Bus Passengers Fight With Protesters

(VIDEO & PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

Following the early-morning Police raid in Meah Shearim which resulted in the arrest of 4 people including one 14-year-old, local residents staged protests at the intersection of Tzefania and Yechezkel Streets on Monday afternoon. Protests were also held at Kikar Shabbos.

A number of young children with the help of some adults decided to block the busy intersection, inconveniencing thousands of innocent people on buses and cars stuck in the gridlock traffic.

Lately, passengers from buses and those stuck in traffic have begun taking matters into their own hands. In the attached video, a frustrated passenger physically attempts to remove a young boy from blocking the street.

Shortly after, the police arrived and made multiple arrests.

At least two young boys were arrested as can be seen in the attached photos.

It can be expected that there will be even more protests now being that additional arrests were made. And at the next Hafganah additional arrests will be made, and then additional Hafganos will be held – to be followed by more arrests….

  1. I expressed my wish before. Anyone arrested for being a public menace should be banned from ever receiving a dime in any government benefits, including health insurance and any subsidies for life. That should be in effect even if they marry and have a family. They are against the public, and need to suffer as much as they inflicted on others. This chilul Hashem must stop.

  2. i find that charedi boys in israel are very bored due to the fact that they dont have any healthy outlets or activities outside school hours. sports are considered assur for them. so they resort to all kids of wild behaviours

  3. it only seems fair that if you’re upset about something that you should ruin the days of innocent people who are actually doing important things in their lives. Why are they so concerned for the people who are being arrested for valid reasons but not caring about the hundreds of innocent Jews who they are inconveniencing?

  4. The “frustrated passenger” didn’t just “attempt to remove a young boy from blocking the street,” he physically assaulted one them (I think any rational person would call coming up to someone who was not acting in a hostile fashion and kicking them “assault and battery”). So once again we see that the ONLY act of violence was perpetrated AGAINST the protesters, not BY them. I would say it is ironic that the victims were the only ones who got arrested but then we all know how the zionist polizei feel about chareidim.

  5. Mothers and Fathers: if you don’t want your kids to end up in jail and you having to come up with some money to release them, teach them to NOT be a hoodlum.

There are plenty of frum people on those buses who are being inconvenienced by these frum than thou hoodlums stopping the buses.

go protest by the army or police dept or kenesset….

  6. Tourists visiting Israel from abroad should cease shopping in the Meah Shearim/Beis Yisrael neighborhoods and stop making donations to the organizations supporting these bahaviors. In addition, stop the donations to those others who sit idly by. Stop the cash flow to stop the insanity. I believe I read a piece before Pesach regarding the use of food donated for families in need being used to throw at police during demonstrations, which resulted in a shortage that had to be made up with more donations. Really?! Wake up folks. There are other institutions better suited to park your tax write offs and charitable contributions.

Too bad you have no Emess yourself. I played the video on slow. The first altercation is hidden behind some adult in the way of the camera, but the movements leads to the impression the kid was trying to kick the passenger and the latter grabbed hold of the kicking leg in mid air to protect himself and then dragged the kid away.

The second incident is quite clear and the passenger was headed towards the adult (perhaps kicking in his direction for show) when the kid in the middle tried to kick the passenger in the “family jewels” and the passenger whacked him for it. As our Torah, which is “TorasMoshe” and “Emes” is clear about such behaviour – it is allowed to even remove such an offending appendage. . And for those who might complain that the Rabbis interpret the punishment as referring to money, that is *after* the event is over. But during the incident the victim may defend himself during the attack by all means necessary, including cutting off the appendage.

  8. Nowecant, so if a yid commits murder, is a child predator, or committing a crime there should be no fear of a Jewish police officer? … I’m just trying to understand what you are saying…

If the kid is too young for you to deem him subject to arrest, then the kid is too young to be allowed “playing in traffic” endangering himself and others and must be taken into custody for his own safety.
