Limousine Drivers Who Took Part In Peleg Motorcade Questioned By Police

A week after the Peleg Yerushalmi faction held its motorcade of white limousines for the 63 talmidim who sat in military prison during recent months, the drivers of that motorcade were questioned by police under warning for intentionally disrupting traffic in Jerusalem.

On Tuesday Chol Hamoed Pesach, the Yerushalmi faction of the litvish chareidi tzibur held the motorcade to give kovod to the 63, as well as to encourage others to follow their example in the future. Rabbonim affiliated with the faction took part and the 63 stars were received with an impressive measure of kovod for their actions.

The motorcade began outside IDF Prison 4 in solidarity with Aharon Bailah, who was just released from prison. Biala is a well-known Peleg Internet sensation, and a familiar face at most Hafganos.

From there, near Rishon L’Tzion, the convoy continued to the capital. The motorcade of 12 limousines and other vehicles drove to the capital via Highway 1, passing under the Chords Bridge and stopping on Yirmiyahu Street.

The motorcade and event were not authorized in advance by police, hence it was illegal, leading police to the decision to summon the drivers for a probe involving possible charges of disturbing the peace and interfering with the flow of traffic.
