Asher Bernstein, 23, from Yerushalayim, was missing in Nachal Amud in the north. He was in contact with police on Tuesday evening, explaining that he was lost.

ZAKA was notified and appropriate measures were taken to begin the search for Bernstein, who is a talmid in Yeshivas Torah Lishma in Bnei Brak.

The announcement came early Wednesday morning that Asher was found, alive and well.

Authorities stress repeatedly persons hiking during Chol Hamoed must have proper equipment and only hike on authorized trails.
