Arabs are asked if they view all or just eastern Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine and if they would permit the Jewish areas to remain under Israeli control.

for those who do NOT read the Koran maybe this is a question. But know that the Koran divides the world into two: dir al Islam and dir al Harev.
Dir al Islam is lands conquered by Islam and are for the Muslim faithful.
Dir al Harev are lands that have yet to be conquered for Islam such as Europe, America, Asia etc. There is an obligation for the Muslim to want to conquer them, but as long as slowly they are progressing, it is fine.
But the most important to understand is dir al Islam. These are not just the lands that have been conquered by Muslims, such as Egypt, Jordan, Saudi, but also Israel Israel was conquered by the Turks (Muslims) and therefore is considered dir al Islam.
It is a insult to Islam that this land is being taken over by ‘infidels’ (Jews). They must get it back. and to add to the insult, we Jews are considered second class people, so to have a ‘Islamic’ land being taken away from Islam is one insult, and to have second class people run it (us Jews) makes it a very big insult.
If a person realizes this is the core problem, he will never be surprised by Arab hatred or resistance against the Jews even though he may make a pact with the Jew for a short time, it is only to get into a better position to get rid of the Jew.
BTW there are many Arab people who don’t know the Koran, and many Arabs who have helped Jews.
What’s very interesting is that a lot of them said, that historically, the Jews, Christians and Muslims lived together until the Zionists came, they were all Palestinian. So the Arabs do know a bit of history.
I bet you if you asked some Jews they would say the same thing to having Arabs having part of yerushalayim
