Shomron resident Adiel Coleman HY”D, a resident of Kochav HaShachar, was identified as the victim of the stabbing attack on HaGai Street in Jerusalem’s Old City at about 4:45PM on Sunday, 3 Nissan. He was pronounced dead at about 11:30PM in Shaare Zedek Medical Center of the capital at about 11:30PM.

The terrorist, Abed el-Rachman Fadel, 28, was a resident of Shechem with a temporary permit for being inside Green Line Israel, was shot dead. He was married and the father of two. He was shot dead by a policeman who was in the area of the attack.

Following the attack, security forces visited the home of the terrorist in the Shechem village of Aqraba. Engineers mapped out the home to prepare it for explosive charges as it is slated for detonation. Members of the terrorist’s family were also questioned by security authorities.

Security forces are concerned with the timing and venue of the attack as persons from around the world are expected to begin arriving next week for Pesach.
