A young pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Menachem Begin Street in Gedera on Wednesday morning.

United Hatzalah EMS personnel performed CPR on the young man in an attempt to resuscitate him. Unfortunately, due to the severity of his injuries, he was pronounced dead at the scene after extensive resuscitation efforts were carried out. The incident is under investigation by police since there was a fatality.

United Hatzalah EMT David Meushar said: “When I arrived at the scene of the accident I saw a young pedestrian who had suffered a serious head injury and was in traumatic arrest. We performed CPR on the young victim. Unfortunately, we were unable to save him and at the end of an extensive resuscitation effort by all involved, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car that was involved in the accident was treated for light injuries.

The identity of the victim was not released by police.
