Minister of Education and Chairman of the Bayit Yehudi party, Naftali Bennet on Thursday, 21 Adar, marked his main condition for entering the next government, should it be established by Binyamin Netanyahu
In an interview with Galei Tzahal (Army Radio), Bennet was asked if he would not agree to give up the defense portfolio this time if the prime minister formed the next government.
“Yes, definitely,” replied Bennett, stressing that he “does not intend to push Netanyahu out, but if he is prime minister, I definitely intend next time to demand the defense portfolio. I think that is essential.” At the same time, he reiterated that “if he stepped off the stage, I intend to run for prime minister.”
Earlier, the Education Minister tweeted that the political crisis in Israel surrounding the draft law is transitory, “sums up a very successful week in Washington and now in New York, although there is quite a storm here. It will pass. ”
“The support we see here in the United States, both among the public and among the elected representatives in Congress and in the Senate, is tremendous support, wall to wall, Democrats and Republicans alike, we have a serious backig here,” Bennet said.
