Amir Peretz Makes Last Minutes Switch to The Movement Party

While he held a prominent senior slot on the Labor ticket, veteran MK Amir Peretz on Thursday morning, hours ahead of the deadline to submit party lists, announced he is leaving Labor, the party he once headed.

Deciding to move to The Movement Party headed by Tzipi Livni, Peretz was guaranteed the third slot on that list, preferring the change over being persona non-grata by Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich.

Interestingly, Amram Mitzne, another former Labor Party leader also joined Livni’s party, now being referred to a “Labor 2” by some.

  1. A political party of former party leaders who were fired by their previous party for incompetence. Of course, many people are “losers” at life, so maybe they’ll relate to them.
