On Monday, 18 Adar, a third former close advisor to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Nir Hefetz, has signed documents to become a state witness. He is expected to testify against the prime minister in the Bezeq/Walla case (Case 4000) as well as the case alleging Mr. Netanyahu illegally accepted gifts (Case 1000). With the prosecution bringing Hefetz on board, he joins former PM Bureau Chief Ari Harow and Communicatons Ministry Director-General Shlomo Filber, both state witnesses against their former boss.
Ynet quotes persons close to Mr. Netanyahu saying, “When there is something, there is no need for a single state witness. When there is nothing, even a thousand state’s witnesses won’t help. The unstoppable pursuit of state’s witnesses is the best proof that there is nothing and there will be nothing.”
