New Traffic Arrangements For Entering Yerushalayim Until March 9, 2018


The following is a brief overview of traffic changes in coming days as per the Jerusalem Municipality website.

Construction work will be ongoing between March 3, 2018 and March 9, 2018. This construction will lead to certain traffic changes and traffic jams. The public transport and light rail will function as usual. As of March 15th, the construction will expand.

This work is towards the establishment of the largest integrated transportation center in Israel. The transportation will be diverted to alternative streets that have been expanded.

On Saturday evening, March 3, 2008, infrastructure work was carried out that will affect traffic arrangements at the entrance to Jerusalem. The work will take about a week, until March 9th, and will include special travel arrangements:

On Saturday night, March 3, 2018, Shazar Boulevard was closed from the Nordau junction to the Shmuel Baruch junction (Aggripas). The work will continue throughout the day and night.

On Saturday, March 3, 2018 – upon completion of the excavation work at intersections, the road was opened and the work in the area will continue for another week, during which traffic disturbances may occur.

  • Public transportation and the light rail will function as ordered.
  • Departing from the city: drive through Rupin Boulevard, Herzl Boulevard, Yitzhak Rabin Boulevard and exit through Begin Road.
  • For those entering the city, please come from: Route 443, the Arazim Tunnel, Begin Road and Yitzhak Rabin Boulevard.

In addition, on March 15th , the construction of the largest integrated transportation center in Israel will be expanded. In this context, work will be carried out that will affect the movement arrangements at the entrance to Jerusalem. The completion of the work is expected to be approximately 48 months. Therefore, the work will affect traffic arrangements at the entrance to Jerusalem: Shazar Boulevard between the Shmuel Baruch junction (Aggripas) and the Nordau junction will be closed to traffic, and the traffic will be diverted to alternate streets that were extended to the drivers.
