Two Modi’in residents are in custody after they stole pushkes from a shul in the city.
Police during the course of last week received a report of two young men entering a shul on Emek Ayalon Street and tried to steal the tzedaka money.
When police arrived on the scene, they found one of the suspects, a 25-year-old male resident of the city. He was detained for questioning. The following day, the second suspect was taken into custody, a 24-year-old resident of the city.
Police learned they stole the money from the shul last week and this week, tried their luck once again but were apprehended. The two were arraigned and released to house arrest.
